Digital Film Stock Inspired by Eastman's Color Negative 5254/7254
Much like analogue film stocks, on-set LUTs provide a cohesive color palette and contrast curve across an entire project or series. By maintaining a consistent aesthetic, these LUTs are a vital tool in the creative process, allowing artists to craft their vision with precision and control. Cinematographers can choose between supervising a Look Design process in pre-production to create bespoke on-set LUTs, or select from a growing range of carefully crafted Digital Film Stocks which can also be customized. Bespoke LUTs can be created for any type of on-set workflow, including ACES 2. The development of color management pipelines, from on-set DIT workflows to the final grade, is included as part of the pre-production Look Design process. The Digital Film Stocks (available below) are inspired by quintessential film stocks that have defined the color and contrast palettes of numerous legendary films. They harness the remarkable perceptual depth of ARRI’s new LogC4 color science, merging the aesthetic qualities of these original film stocks with contemporary advancements in color perception and the greater image fidelity of professional digital cameras. These LUTs can be used with any type of professional camera, such as ARRI, Sony, Red, Blackmagic etc. By employing printer light controls on-set, the DIT can easily adjust the color and exposure of the footage, offering a variety of looks while preserving the characteristics of the filmic curve. This approach preserves an organic relationship between color and contrast and is focused on supporting the art of in-camera cinematography. Digital film stocks serve as a foundation in the final grading process, allowing for the creation of a wide range of unique aesthetics within their defined color palette and contrast frameworks
