For this personal exploration of family and legacy, the look was crafted to match the emotional weight of the story. Cinematographer Florian Mag captured painterly light with a nostalgic, filmic sensibility that supported director Dieu Hao Do’s effort to confront the impact of war. We aimed to create a subtle look that maintained clear character without overshadowing the real-life storytelling. The palette featured dense blue-black shadows reflecting buried history, while warm, rolled-off highlights softened the image, giving it a memory-like texture throughout.
